Our espresso blend changes throughout the year, so that it always contains coffees that are in season and perfectly complement each other. This season, it contains two special coffees produced on family farms in South America.
80% of the blend is made up of Fazenda Progresso, a naturally processed coffee produced by the Borré family in Bahia, Brazil. The family’s motto is ‘Mindful Coffee’, referencing their commitment to acting consciously and responsibly, and ensuring that their core values – excellence, innovation, environmental and social responsibility – inform every decision they make.
20% of the blend is a washed coffee produced by the Navarro family in Caranavi, Bolivia. In recent years, the family has participated in a training program called Sol de la Mañana run by our sourcing partners at Agricafe. This intensive course required years of hard work, and was ultimately a resounding success; the family’s plantation is now thriving and their yields have increased by nearly 400%.
These two superb coffees combine to create a rich, sweet and satisfying espresso that works beautifully both black and with milk. In the cup, you’ll find notes of rich dark chocolate with strawberry and almond.
